Sharing is caring!

This week’s quote is a great one to remember if you tend to neglect yourself in the process of supporting others in your life.  Or, if you feel guilty about spending time improving yourself–whether it’s improving your body, mind, or spirit.

Life is a gift and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more. ~Anthony Robbins

We can easily become complacent about self-improvement.  Life happens around us–the kids need our attention, our job is demanding, friends and family need us–and our own needs are left neglected unless we take responsibility and nurture our selves on a consistent basis.

When we grow–when we improve ourselves–our world improves as well.  We’re happier, more fulfilled, and we’re pursuing what we love.  And, we become role models for the people around us.  Besides, how can you give from an empty well?  You must replenish yourself on a regular basis in order to give more.  It’s okay to give to your self.  It’s okay to focus on yourself sometimes to become who you were meant to be.  This isn’t selfish–it provides so many gifts to others who surround you in life.

Our culture is based upon the pursuit of happiness–heck, it’s in our Declaration of Independence.  Give yourself permission and schedule your own self-improvement and personal development into your busy schedule.  Don’t neglect yourself for the sake of others–you are important too.  Model to your family the gift of personal development and what it means to become your best self, living your best life.  As L’Oreal says:  “You’re worth it!”

What things do you do to promote your own self-growth?  Do you do it on a regular basis?
