What it is

What Is the Bengston Method?

The Bengston Method is an energy-based, non-invasive wellness technique developed by researcher Dr. William Bengston, a sociology professor who spent decades studying energy healing and intention-based practices.

At the core of the method is a process called Rapid Image Cycling™, where the practitioner moves through a series of mental images at a very fast pace while holding a focused intention.

This technique is:

  • Structured and repeatable
  • Not dependent on belief or spirituality
  • Designed to engage the body’s natural response systems

Unlike many modalities, it is often described as “mechanical” and “belief-free”, meaning results are not dependent on mindset, faith, or personal philosophy. 

A Note on Research

The Bengston Method is one of the few energy-based approaches that has been explored in controlled laboratory settings over several decades.

  • No effort is required on your part (although it is recommended you have your own "cycling" list)

What does a session feel like?

How many sessions will I need?

Can this help with anxiety or physical issues?

These sessions are not a medical or mental health treatment.

They are designed to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being. Many clients choose to use this alongside other forms of care.

Do you offer distance sessions?

Yes. Sessions can be done remotely, and you can simply relax in your own space during the scheduled time.

What do I need to do during the session?

Nothing at all.

You can sit or lie down, close your eyes if you’d like, and simply rest. Or, I can also teach you how to create and "run" a "cycling" list which you are welcome to do at the time of treatment.

Is this safe?

Yes. The method is non-invasive and gentle. It does not involve physical manipulation or substances.

How should I prepare?
